Rancang Bangun Alat Penyambung Filamen Semi Otomatis Menggunakan Pulse Width Modulation Controller
Abstract
Filament splicing in 3D printing is a major challenge in the additive manufacturing industry, especially in ensuring strong and uniform joint quality. This study aims to design and develop a semi-automatic filament splicing tool that can improve the efficiency and quality of PLA+ and PET filament splicing. The splicing method used in this study is thermal splicing, where both ends of the filament are heated to a certain melting point and then pressed to form a homogeneous joint. Tests were carried out with temperature variations to determine the optimal parameters that produce the best joint strength. The results of the study showed that the designed tool was able to splice filaments well, and supported the concept of sustainability in the 3D printing industry. Thus, this tool is expected to be an effective solution for 3D printer users in overcoming the problems of filament length limitations and production efficiency.
