Analisis Perbaikan Tahanan Tanah dengan Campuran Bentonit, Arang Kayu dan Garam Menggunakan Elektroda Batang
Analysis of Improvement of Soil Resistance with a Mixture of Bentonite, Wood Charcoal and Salt Using Rod Electrode
Abstract
Grounding is a very important protection system in electrical installations, because it functions to throw excess current into the ground, so as to secure people and equipment. The grounding system is expected to have the smallest possible ground resistance value, because with a small resistance it can drain excess current directly into the ground quickly. Factors that affect the size of the resistance value depend on the type of soil, type of grounding system, temperature, humidity, electrolyte content in the soil. As an effort to improve grounding resistance in locations with high soil resistance values, additives can be added around the grounding electrode. This study aims to analyze the effect of a mixture of Bentonite, Charcoal and Salt on the soil using a rod electrode to reduce the resistance value of the soil during hot and rainy weather conditions along with humidity with a hole depth of 50 cm. This research contributes to the grounding system mixed by Bentonite, Wood Charcoal and Salt in the soil in improving the resistance value of the soil. From the results of the research conducted, the best resistance value obtained from the composition of bentonite, wood charcoal and salt mixture as much as 100% obtained a soil resistance value of 3.82 ohms during rainy conditions with 90% RH humidity.
