Indonesia's rapid increase in population and urbanization are reshaping the lives of citizens living in urban areas drastically within their environment. Access to fresh and nutritious food within the city is threatened by the high level of processed food and the low production of fresh food in the city center. Therefore, there is a need for an urban farming center within the City of Medan to increase access to and interest in fresh and nutritious food, while also providing activities to learn about urban farming and its process. The design method used is a collection of primary and secondary data through surveys, observations, and literature studies to produce the design and concept of this building. This building focuses on the concept of urban farming based on LCDI which provides easy and educational access to healthy food, and provides a green space for citizens to develop their interests in farming. This urban farming center is expected to be a solution to the problems faced by citizens living in urban areas, and ultimately increasing food security within the city.en_US
