dc.description.abstractThe achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia has not experienced a significant increase from year to year. In 2021, the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia was only 71.58 percent, while the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Dairi Regency was only 40.65 percent. According to the Ministry of Health (2023), one of the causes of the decline in the practice of exclusive breastfeeding is that working mothers do not give exclusive breastfeeding after the mother has completed her maternity leave. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that affect exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers in the formal sector of Dairi Regency. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional research design. The population is all mothers who have babies aged 6-12 and work in the formal sector in Dairi Regency in 2024. The number of samples was 187 respondents. Data collection was carried out by questionnaire. The results of this study found that the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers in the formal sector in Dairi Regency was 23.5%, still far below the national target (80%). There was an effect of lactation room facilities (p value: 0.005) with an Exp (β) of 2.958 (95%CI 1.388- 6.307) and no influence of knowledge (p value: 0.397), husband support (p value: 0.486), support of colleagues (p value: 0.688) and formula milk advertising (p value: 0.233) there was exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers in the formal sector. It is recommended to workplace managers to provide lactation room facilities and provide time for breastfeeding working mothers to breastfeed their babies directly or express breast milk.en_US
