dc.description.abstractMenstrual pain, or dysmenorrhea, is a common complaint experienced by female students during menstruation. This pain can disrupt daily activities, including academic pursuits. As it is known that female students require focus and concentration to understand academic material, it is crucial for them to pay attention to their reproductive health and nutrition to manage and reduce menstrual pain effectively. This study aims to determine the relationship the consumption of Magnesium and Vitamin E sources, exercise habits, and the level of menstrual pain among the class of 2021 female students Public Health Faculty, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). This is a descriptive quantitative study using a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The sample was obtained using Slovin's formula, with a total of 72 female students. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that 45.8 percent of the students experienced moderate levels of menstrual pain. There was a significant relationship between Magnesium consumption and the level of menstrual pain (p = 0.004). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between Magnesium consumption and the level of menstrual pain among female students at the Faculty of Public Health, USU. It is hoped that students will pay attention to their nutrient intake before and during menstruation to reduce the menstrual pain experienced, thereby improving their quality of life.en_US
