Hubungan Pengetahuan dan Sikap dengan Penerapan Personal Hygiene Saat Menstruasi pada Siswi MTSN 1 Padang Sidimpuan Tahun 2024

Abstract

Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) is the management of hygiene and health for women during menstruation. These efforts include maintaining menstrual health and personal hygiene, especially in the reproductive organs to avoid the proliferation of bacteria and fungi which can cause disease in the reproductive organs. This research aims to analyze the relationship of knowledge and attitude with the application of personal hygiene during menstruation among female students of MTsN 1 Padang Sidimpuan in 2024. This research uses quantitative methods with a cross-sectional research design. The population of this study was female students in grades VII, VIII, and IX. The total sample for this study was 86 female students who had experienced menstruation. The sampling technique for this research is proportionate random stratified sampling. This research uses primary data collected through questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the Chi-square test. The results of this study show that 76.7% of female students have a good level of knowledge, 83.7% of female students have attitudes that are classified as good and 95.3% of female students have good personal hygiene practices during menstruation. Based on the results of the Chi-square test, it shows that the knowledge variable has a value of p=0.020 (p<0.05), and attitude has a value of p=0.003 (p<0.05). So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes and the application of personal hygiene during menstruation among female MTsN 1 Padang Sidimpuan students.
