    Abstract
Work fatigue is characterized by feelings of tiredness and decreased alertness, which affect work productivity. Based on the survey results of PPNI (Indonesian National Nurses Association), 50.9% of nurses working in four provinces experience fatigue. According to a preliminary survey at RSU Mitra Sejati Medan, 7 out of 9 nurses experience work fatigue. This study aims to identify the factors related to work fatigue among nurses in the inpatient unit of Mitra Sejati Hospital, Medan. This quantitative study uses a cross-sectional approach and was conducted from March to August 2024. Total population of 139 nurses with a sample of 61 nurses obtained through purposive sampling. Fatigue was measured using a subjective fatigue questionnaire based on the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) scale and categorized into low, moderate, high, and very high levels of work fatigue. Data processing was carried out univariately and bivariately. Bivariate analysis was done using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results of the study indicated that 17 nurses (27.9%) experienced high levels of fatigue, 24 nurses (39.3%) experienced moderate fatigue, and 20 nurses (32.8%) experienced low levels of fatigue. Statistical test results showed a significant relationship between health conditions (p-value=0.001) and workload (p-value=0.027) with work fatigue, whereas nutritional status (p-value=0.543) and pain (p-value=0,193) did not show a significant relationship. The recommendation from this study is for nurses to engage in physical activities like light exercise before and after work to improve their physical health. Additionally, hospitals should consider adjusting the staffing levels to match the workload to reduce stress and fatigue among nurses.
