This study aims to convert waste cooking oil (WCO) into biodiesel using electromagnetic induction heating and CaO catalyst derived from batik shell waste. The energy crisis and limited fossil fuel resources have driven the use of biodiesel as a more eco-friendly and economical alternative energy source. The conversion of WCO to biodiesel was conducted through a transesterification process at a reaction temperature of 60°C, with molar ratios of 1:6 and 1:8 and reaction times of 30, 60, and 90 minutes. The study found that a reaction time of 30 minutes with a molar ratio of 1:8 yielded the highest biodiesel yield at 82%. The resulting biodiesel was tested for parameters including density, viscosity, flash point, and cetane number according to the SNI 7182-2015 standard. The biodiesel produced had characteristics that met SNI standards, such as a density range of 850-890 kg/m³ and a minimum cetane number of 51.This study demonstrates the potential of electromagnetic induction heating in biodiesel production from WCO as a more efficient and sustainable solution.en_US
