I 1018 steel is a class of low carbon steel that is widely used in industrial applications. The welding process, which is closely linked to the construction and manufacturing world, has a major impact on the quality of the weld. Good weld quality is essential to ensure the strength and reliability of the resulting structure. The purpose of this research is to determine the mechanical properties and microstructure of AISI 1018 steel after being welded using SMAW (Shield Metal Arc Welding) welding with variations in electric current of 100A, 110A, and 120A. The method used in this research is an experimental method with hardness testing, microstructure observation, and penetrant test. The results showed that there was an effect of variations in electric current on AISI 1018 steel.en_US
