dc.description.abstract | The conflict between Kosovo and Serbia continues to experience complex dynamics, especially with the involvement of international actors engaged in the humanitarian field such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). NATO's involvement in humanitarian intervention is often based on the Responsibility to Protect (R2p) principle, but especially in its involvement in the controversial 1998-1999 Kosovo conflict, making it one of the topics that often invites debate among academics. This research aims to analyze and find out the international humanitarian law arrangements regarding armed conflict, the role of NATO in handling the Kosovo conflict with Serbia, and the study of international humanitarian law on the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia in the event of the Zvecan riots in North Kosovo. So this research uses normative legal research with qualitative analysis. The data used in this research is secondary data, namely literature studies including primary legal materials such as international treaties, secondary legal materials in the form of journals and books, and tertiary legal materials, namely KBBI.
The results of this study are an understanding of the humanitarian law regulation of armed conflict and its development in the influence of political, ethnic, racial, religious, economic, social, and other elements, knowing the role of NATO in handling the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia, and the study of international humanitarian law on the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia in the riots that occurred in Zvecan North Kosovo 2023. | en_US |
