dc.description.abstract | Elderly are people who aged 60 years above. Health problems that occur in the
elderly can reduce the quality of life, health, and independence of the elderly.
Elderly Posyandu is a community-based health service that aims to improve the
health and quality of life of the elderly by providing health screening services to
fulfill the SPM for elderly health services. Helvetia Health Center is ranked first
out of 41 health centers in Medan City which has the lowest percentage of SPM
achievement for elderly health services when compared to the target of 100%,
which is 45.6% in 2022 and decreased to 36% in 2023. In addition, the number of
elderly people visiting elderly posyandu is only 20 to 35 people in 2023. This
research aims to determine the implementation of elderly posyandu at Helvetia
Health Center working area. This research is qualitative descriptive research with
14 informants as research subjects. Data collection was carried out through indepth
interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study showed
that the implementation of elderly posyandu at Helvetia Health Center working
area does not meet standards, due to the lack of availability of facilities, inadequate
infrastructure used, limited implementation time because officers had dual duties
caused by the lack of human resources at the health center, limited budget, and the
lack of availability and competence of posyandu cadres. This is one of the reasons
why the elderly do not visit the posyandu and choose to go to the hospital or clinic.
From this research, it is hoped that Helvetia Health Center, Dinas Kesehatan
Medan City, and village government can re-evaluate the implementation of elderly
posyandu at Helvetia Health Center working area starting from the availability of
facilities and infrastructure, the availability and competence of posyandu cadres,
and the budget used for posyandu activities. | en_US |
