Pemilihan Lokasi TPA Regional untuk Kota Medan dan Kabupaten Deli Serdang

Abstract

One of the consequences of the increase in the rate of development, population growth and the activities and socio-economic levels of society has triggered an increase in the amount of waste generated. This becomes increasingly complex with the implementation of the old paradigm, where management relies on collection, transportation and disposal activities. The research was carried out to find a solution which was carried out in three main activity stages, namely the identification stage, the stage of preparing a decision making system/decision support system, namely the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method and the use of GIS applications to analyze potential areas to determine the Regional TPA Location for Medan City and Deli Serdang Regency. The identification stage was carried out in the study area, starting with observing waste conditions in settlements, deepened by identifying communities related to waste infrastructure and identifying environmental conditions. The results of the identification stage, accompanied by the identification of sustainability criteria for the implementation of waste management in general, are then used as initial data for the stage of preparing criteria for selecting landfill site Regional TPA locations for Medan City and Deli Serdang Regency. The results of the research show that Limau Mungkur Village, Kec. STIM Hilir is considered the most appropriate location in the study area. Based on these results, the concept of selecting criteria for Land Use, Hydrogiology, River Distance, Flood Prone Areas, Settlement Distance, Zone Slope, Geology, Airport Distance and Elevation are the determinants in selecting alternative locations.
