Evaluation of Structural Performance by Non-Linear Time History Analysis Method in Multi-Storey Buildings Using Midas Gen Software.(Case Study: Sapadia Hotel Building Project on Jl. Sisingamangaraja, Medan)
Abstract
The Sapadia Hotel Building, located on Jalan Sisingamangaraja,
Medan City, was built in 2016 and was stopped from work. However, in 2023, the
construction of the Sapadia Hotel building will continue and it is necessary to
evaluate the performance of the structure due to changes in the earthquake loading
guidelines used at the beginning based on SNI 1726:2012 with the latest SNI
1726:2019 regulations. To support the research, the Non-Linear Time History
Analysis (NLTHA) method was used. Modeling and analysis will be assisted by the
Midas Gen V23 software program. SNI 1726:2019 and ATC – 40 will be used as
guidelines to determine the performance level of the structure. The structural
response to story displacement between the two conditions experienced significant
differences in values for the five earthquake data, for example the Kobe earthquake
(uncracked stiffness) in the X direction (0.0549 m) and Y (0.0362) with the Kobe
earthquake (cracking stiffness) in the X (0.0863 m) and Y (0.0841 m) earthquakes.
For inter-story drift, the Parkfield earthquake still does not meet the requirements
of SNI 1726:2019 regulation because on the Ground Floor, Mezzanine Floor, 2nd
Floor and 3rd Floor exceeded the allowable drift ratio limit (0.0155 > 0.015;
0.0158 > 0.015; 0.0167 > 0.015; 0.0198 > 0.015). The performance level of the
structure reviewed against the ATC regulation – 40 is classified in the IO
(Immediate Occupancy) category.
