dc.description.abstractThis thesis is entitled Ambiguity in the Headline Jakarta Post Article. The purposes of this thesis are to determine the types of ambiguity and to find out the dominant type of ambiguity found in the headline Jakarta Post article. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data were 26 headline articles that contained ambiguity. In analyzing the data, the theory of (Cecilia Quiroga Clare 1993) was used to find out the types of ambiguity found in the headline Jakarta Post article. The result of this research shows that there are 26 data of ambiguity found from January 2024 until June, 2024. There are two types of ambiguity found: lexical ambiguity and structural ambiguity. There are 16 belong to lexical ambiguity and 10 belong to structural ambiguity. Lexical Ambiguity is the most dominant with total percentage is 61%, structural ambiguity is 39%.en_US
