Gambaran Persepsi Remaja terhadap Bullying di SMA Swasta Methodist Berastagi
An Overview of Adolescents' Perceptions of Bullying at Berastagi Methodist Private High School.
Abstract
Bullying is increasing each year and often occurs among Indonesia students. It is revealed that 41.1% of bullying victims in Indonesia, ranking the country fifth among 78 countries experiencing the incidence of bullying. Senior high school is a place where bullying behavior is found. Perception of bullying plays an important role in preventing and handling this problem. The objective of this research is to find out the description of students’ perception of bullying at schools. The research uses a quantitative research method with a descriptive design. The sample consists of 73 students from SMA Swasta Methodist, Berastagi, as the respondents, selected using probability sampling with a systematic sampling technique. The data are collected by distributing questionnaires and processed using descriptive statistic. The results of research show that 62 respondents (84.9%) have a good perception of bullying, and 11 respondents (15.1%) have a moderate perception. The majority of adolescents at SMA Swasta Methodist, Berastagi, have a good perception of bullying, so it is expected that they can maintain and increase their understanding that bullying is a harmful action that must be avoided.
