This research method uses descriptive analysis methods. The data in this research are written data in the form of utterances which contain the form and function of illocutionary speech acts. The data sources used are divided into primary data and secondary data. Primary data is in the form of the film Ibana Manang Ahu by Anak Pakkat, then secondary data is obtained from book or journal sources, as well as from internet sources which contain information related to research. Furthermore, the method in this research was carried out using the listening method which aims to listen to the speech used in the film dialogue. The listening method in this research uses other methods in the form of note-taking methods or techniques, documentation, and sorting out determining elements. The note-taking technique is to record all the dialogue into a script which makes it easier to collect data as well as documentation in the form of images from films, then sort out the determining elements, namely classifying the form and function of speech. Based on the research results and the results of dialogue analysis in films, it is concluded that the most dominant use of speech acts is directive speech acts and the most dominant function is the function of requesting and inviting. These findings reflect the variations in the way characters communicate in various social and emotional contexts reflected in films, which enriches understanding of the role of speech acts in narrative construction and interactions between characters. Overall, this research shows that the function of illocutionary speech acts in the film Ibana Manang Ahu plays an important role in creating conversational dynamics and character development, as well as revealing various communicative purposes in the interactions of the characters in it.en_US
