dc.description.abstractAn effective grounding system is one that has a low soil resistance. To improve the grounding system in locations with high soil resistance, the addition of additives around the grounding electrode can be performed. Various factors that can affect the grounding resistance include soil moisture and the depth of electrode burial. This study aims to analyze the use of coal fly ash and CaCl2 as treatments for soil to reduce the value of grounding resistance with variations in soil moisture and electrode burial depth. Resistance measurements were carried out using the 3-point method with a Kyoritsu Earthtester kew 4105A measuring instrument. The addition of compositions of fly ash, CaCl2, and native soil was varied at variations in soil moisture and electrode burial depth. The best resistance value obtained in this study was a composition of 10% kg fly ash and 90% kg CaCl2 at a soil moisture of 85% RH and an electrode burial depth of 1 meter of 2.07 ohms, where there was a decrease of 90.86% from the initial resistance value.en_US
