dc.description.abstractMetal processing has many advances such as metal forging, metal casting and powder metallurgy. Powder metallurgy can be used for small products such as EDM electrodes which generally use pure copper. This research aims to determine the effect of molybdenum composition in the (CuNi)-2.5wt.%Fe alloy with variations without Mo, 1%Mo, 2%Mo and 3%Mo on the microstructure, mechanical properties and electrical conductivity. The materials used in the research (CuNi)-2.5wt.%Fe were copper powder (Cu), nickel powder (Ni), iron powder (Fe) and molybdenum powder (Mo). The powder mixing process uses a V-mixer which is carried out for 2 hours at a speed of 120 rpm with a weight ratio of powder and balls of 1:5, the mixed powder is weighed then compacted at a pressure of 250 MPa for 15 minutes then the green compact specimen is sintered at a temperature of 770˚C for 120 minutes with an electric muffle furnace. Tests include density, Vickers hardness, compressive strength, microstructure and electrical conductivity tests. The Vickers density and hardness test results had the highest values for the (CuNi)-2.5wt.%Fe-3wt.%Mo alloy with values of 6.56 gr/cm3 and 73.2 VHN. The test results for compressive strength and electrical conductivity have the highest value (CuNi)-2.5wt.%Fe with an average yield stress value of 190.47 MPa and 4.356 x 107 S/m. The greater the molybdenum composition in the (CuNi)-2.5wt.%Fe alloy makes the microstructure of the alloy less oxide.en_US
