Development of the Event Organizer Professional Improvement Program of PT. Setia Alfa Perkasa With Personnel Management Approach
Abstract
PT Setia Alfa Perkasa (SAP ENTERPRISE) is a company operating in the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference, and Exhibition) sector, providing event organizing and event consulting services. However, during the event execution process, PT SAP often encounters issues related to the performance of event crew members. These problems are frequently associated with Personnel Management, including poor communication skills, lack of experience, lack of skills, inadequate job knowledge, and a recruitment system not based on job specifications. Additionally, the growing market demands and increasing competition in the MICE Event Organizer industry, along with heightened social interactions, present further challenges. If these issues are not addressed promptly, they will affect the company's professionalism and the success of events, preventing the company and its clients from achieving their desired targets.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of PT. Setia Alfa Perkasa's Event Organizer in meeting the growing market demands of MICE from internal and external factors, and to identify and formulate policies and programs that can be implemented to enhance the quality, professionalism, and competitiveness of PT. Setia Alfa Perkasa's Event Organizer using the QSPM method. The results from QSPM show that the attractiveness score for all strategic factors indicates a total attractiveness score (TAS) of 5.79 for Alternative 1. Based on the analysis of internal and external factors, recruitment and training system weaknesses were identified, with a score of 0.20, hindering the company from acquiring and retaining quality personnel. Based on the QSPM analysis, the proposed development program includes selective recruitment, training, certification, a continuous education curriculum, internship programs, and appropriate placement.
