Sistem Penyimpanan dan Pemeliharaan Arsip di Komisi E DPRD Sumatera Utara dalam Menunjang Kinerja Karyawan

Abstract

Background: Based on observations at Commission E of the North Sumatra DPRD, the archive storage and maintenance system is still inadequate. Archives are stored without neat organization, making it difficult to find them, and are not maintained, making them less durable. The lack of archivist training also affects archive management. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the storage and maintenance system of archives in Commission E of the North Sumatra DPRD in supporting employee performance. Methods: The data collection methods used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Results: The archive storage system at Commission E of the North Sumatra Legislative Assembly has applied the principles of speed, accuracy and efficiency, but it is not yet optimal. Staff organization, equipment and knowledge need to be improved. Records maintenance is inadequate, with no temperature control, limited air circulation and irregular chemical spraying. While staff performance is good, further training is needed for professionalism. Conclusion: Archive storage and maintenance activities at Commission E of the North Sumatra DPRD are still not optimal. Therefore, it is hoped that it can continue to improve its storage and maintenance activities so that everything runs well according to applicable procedures and also to help the performance of employees to be even better in the future.
