A Description of Moral Values in the Movie The Mother (2023)

Abstract

This paper describes the types of moral values and what type of dominant moral value is found in the movie The Mother (2023). This paper used types of moral values theory that was proposed by Buzan (2003:23). The method that is used in describing this paper is a qualitative method. Data is collected through conversational dialog of the characters. The types of moral values can be found by watching, analyzing, and identifying the words spoken and scenes performed by the characters and the dominant of moral value can be found by determining the dominant data from the types of moral values in the movie The Mother. The results of this study indicate that the types of moral values contained in the movie The Mother (2003) are Bravery (6,66%), Humbleness (6,66%), Honesty (6,66%), Steadfastness (6,66%), Sympathetic to others (6,66%), Cooperativeness (6,66%), Thankfulness (6,66%), Kindhearted (6,66%), Trustworthiness (6,66%), Sincerity (13,33%), and Love and affection (26,66%). And the type of dominant moral value is love and affection (26,66%).
