This study aims to determine the effect of gamma irradiation on the growth and production of red chili. This research was conducted in Asam Kumbang village, Medan Selayang sub-district, Medan city, North Sumatra. The research was conducted from November 2023 to March 2024. The method of analysis used in the study was descriptive analysis consisting of one sample, namely the green cultivar of red chili with gamma irradiation treatment doses of 0, 50, and 100 Gy with paired T test. The results showed that overall the gamma irradiation treatment dose of 50 Gy gave a significant difference to the parameters of flowering age, leaf area, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll compared to control plants. Gamma irradiation treatment dose of 100 Gy gave a significant difference to the parameters of the number of branches and leaf area compared to control plants.en_US
