Peran Hardiness dalam Menghadapi Future Anxiety pada Strawberry Generation
The Role of Hardiness in Facing Future Anxiety in the Strawberry Generation
Abstract
The rapid transformation of the modern workforce in the digital era presents significant challenges for the younger generation, particularly the so-called Strawberry Generation, which is known for its emotional vulnerability and low stress tolerance. This condition often leads to heightened levels of future anxiety, making psychological resilience an essential trait. This study aims to examine the role of hardiness in addressing future anxiety among the Strawberry Generation. A quantitative method was employed, involving 190 respondents aged 18–24 years who had been working for at least six months. The instruments used were a 31-item Hardiness Scale and a 5-item Dark Future Scale. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression to test the effect of hardiness on future anxiety. The results showed that hardiness significantly contributes to reducing future anxiety, accounting for 59.5% of the variance. Additionally, 91.6% of the respondents were found to have low levels of future anxiety, while 96.3% demonstrated high levels of hardiness. These findings support the theoretical assumption that individuals with higher hardiness are more capable of coping with stress, viewing challenges positively, and maintaining psychological resilience in the face of uncertainty. This research highlights the importance of developing hardiness as a personal resource to help young professionals navigate a volatile and demanding work environment with greater confidence and stability.
