Analisis Dampak Gerakan Boikot Israel Terhadap Penurunan Harga Saham PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk Di Bursa Efek Indonesia

Abstract

The boycott movement was carried out with the aim of putting economic and political pressure on Israel to stop its actions against Palestine. This research aims to analyze the impact of the boycott movement on products and companies affiliated with Israel on the decline in share prices on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Data was analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods to describe the phenomena that occurred. The research results showed that the boycott movement had an impact on the capital market in Indonesia. During the period October 2023 to December 2023, PT. Unilever Indonesia Tbk. (UNVR) experienced a decline at 4.59%. This decline reflects negative investor sentiment. The decline in the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) also occurred from October 2023 to November 2023, indicating market uncertainty due to the boycott. Signaling Theory suggests that boycotts serve as a negative signal to investors and reduce confidence in companies associated with Israel. Portfolio diversification and monitoring the socio-political situation are necessary to reduce the risk of reputation worsening due to the impact of the boycott.
