Abstract
This research is entitled Student Behavior towards the Existence of Skincare in the USU FISIP Campus Environment. The aim of this research is to find out what factors cause changes in behavior in female students regarding the existence of skincare and the impact of using skincare. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques, namely in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and also documentation. The results of this research are that there are factors that cause changes in student behavior towards the existence of skincare, influenced by the surrounding environment, social media and peers. The impact that occurs from this change in behavior is an increase in self-confidence in skincare users, feeling more accepted by their presence in the surrounding environment. The consequences of student behavior regarding the existence of skincare in the campus environment can be negative if this is too focused on, it can have an impact on the psychology of the users where students will feel depressed due to not getting the appropriate results on their facial skin and feel anxious. Maslow's theory and personality theory are used to analyze the results of this research. These two theories are in line with the research results. Of the two theories, Maslow's theory is more dominantly used in this research. This research hopes for further discussion from future researchers regarding what efforts can be made to minimize feelings of pressure, stress and also anxiety felt by skincare users. More in-depth education regarding proper skin care and wise financial management is very important to support this. overall welfare of female students.
