dc.description.abstract | This research discusses the critical discourse analysis of Citayam fashion week in mass media. This research addresses three issues: discourse structure, social cognition,and social context. It applies the Teun A. van Dijk's theoretical model of critical discourse analysis. Data were collected through observation followed by note-taking, and presented through both formal and informal approaches. The research results indicate that the news about Citayam fashion week on detik.com and kompas.com is divided into three sections: Firstly, the discourse structure, which consists of macrostructure, superstructure, and microstructure The macrostructure includes themes /topics, and subthemes. The superstructure includes title, lead and story. The microstructure is divided into four elements, namely: semantic, syntactic, stylistic, and rhetorical. Elements in semantics include setting, detail, intent, and presupposition. Meanwhile, elements in syntax include tenses, coherence and pronouns. In the analysis of social cognition, the scheme that plays a role in detik.com and kompas.com is the event scheme. Finally, the social context represented in detik.com and kompas.com is the practice of power and access influencing discourse. | en_US |
