Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has had a significant impact on the management of personal data, especially in the use of digital applications. One of the applications used by the public is MyPertamina which functions as a platform for fuel purchase transactions and other services. However, as the use of this application becomes more widespread, concerns arise regarding the security and protection of personal data. This research aims to analyze the form of legal protection for personal data of MyPertamina application users in Indonesia. This research examines the applicable laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal data, and the responsibilities of Electronic Service Providers (PSE) in protecting consumers' personal data, such as the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE), the Personal Data Protection Law, and Government regulations governing electronic system settings. The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory and regulatory approach, where data sources are taken from legal documents and literature. The research results show that although there are several regulations related to personal data protection, their implementation and supervision are still not optimal. There is a need to increase stricter regulations and empower monitoring mechanisms for personal data management by application makers. Apart from that, user awareness of their rights to their personal data is also an important factor in increasing protection.
