| dc.description.abstract | The Faculty of Engineering at North Sumatra University (USU) needs a
new technology laboratory that can support cutting-edge research and
learning. This laboratory should be designed with sustainability
principles in mind and integrated with open spaces to create a
conducive and environmentally friendly learning environment. The aim
of this design is to create a technology laboratory that supports cuttingedge
research and learning, and applies sustainable green design
principles.
The design of this technology laboratory includes the use of
environmentally friendly building materials, energy efficiency, good
water management, and integration with green open spaces that can
be used as learning and gathering areas. Thus, this laboratory not only
functions as a research and learning facility, but also as a model
building that emphasizes aspects of sustainability. The design also
contributes to creating a healthier, more comfortable and inspiring
learning environment for students and staff.
With this laboratory, the USU Faculty of Engineering can position itself
as a pioneer in the application of green technology and sustainable
education in Indonesia. It is hoped that the existence of this green
technology laboratory can have a long-term positive impact on the
