Abstract

Indonesia has abundant natural resources. Cassava is one of the food substitutes for rice that plays an important role in sustaining food security in a region. Cassava has a fairly good nutritional value and is needed to maintain a healthy body and as food, especially as a source of carbohydrates. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the income of cassava farming in Karang Tengah Village, Serbajadi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency and to analyze the income of cassava farming in Karang Tengah Village, Serbajadi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Determination of the sample area is purposive or intentional. Determination of the sample in the study using the slovin formula which amounted to 52 samples. The data analysis method used is a multiple linear regression test model to test the factors that affect cassava farm income. And farmer income is calculated using the formula I = TR-TC. The results showed that the total average income of cassava farming in Karang Tengah Village was Rp. 17,984,193 per growing season while the monthly income was Rp. 1,798,419. When compared to the Serdang Bedagai Regency Minimum Wage (UMK) of Rp. 3,030,171, the income of cassava farmers in Karang Tengah Village, Serbajadi District, Serdang Bedagai Regency is classified as low..
