dc.description.abstractMelinjo is a garden plants that has a big potential to be achievment into emping emping melinjo. Emping melinjo are a snack with high nutritional value. Therefore, a machine is needed to optimize post-harvest processing. Issues arise during the production of Melinjo chips, and pressing is performed using a pneumatic system because the air pressure in this system can be adjusted as needed. Modifications were made as a solution in the event of a power outage to ensure smooth production. The purpose of this research is to test the Melinjo chip pressing machine with three seeds. The research parameters include the machine's effective capacity, the percentage of material residue, the hardness of the Melinjo chips, and the power required on the lever. The results of this study show that the effective capacity is 0.470 kg/hour. The percentage of material residue is 3.6%. The production cost is Rp 38.367,36 /kg. The Break-Even Point (BEP) of the machine is 37,23 /year. The Net Present Value (NPV) at a 6% discount rate is Rp. 48.885,5/year, the NPV at an 8% discount rate is Rp. 101,817.51 /year, and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 11.84%.en_US
