| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Youth Family Development Program (Bina Keluarga Remaja/BKR) in preventing juvenile delinquency in Sihikkit Village, Onan Ganjang District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. The research background is motivated by the increasing cases of juvenile delinquency, such as online gambling, fights, school truancy, and drug abuse, influenced by weak family supervision and poor communication between parents and adolescents. The research method employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Informants were selected through purposive sampling. Program effectiveness was assessed based on five indicators adapted from Sutrisno (Wulandari, 2018): program understanding, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and tangible changes. The results indicate that the BKR Program has positively impacted parents and adolescents understanding of reproductive health, nutrition, and the risks of harmful behaviors. However, the program's overall effectiveness remains suboptimal. Parent and adolescent participation rates are still low, activities are perceived as monotonous, and tangible behavioral changes among youth are limited. Cases of delinquency, such as truancy, smoking, and other risky behaviors, persist in the community. In conclusion, the BKR Program has not been fully effective in preventing juvenile delinquency in Sihikkit Village. Recommendations include: (1) diversifying activities to make them more engaging for youth, (2) intensifying program socialization, and (3) enhancing community leaders' involvement in program implementation. This study contributes significantly to the development of family-based juvenile delinquency prevention programs in rural areas. | en_US |
