    Abstract
The phenomenon of split ticket voting in the 2024 Election in Karo Regency shows an interesting pattern where there is a split of votes between party choices (PDIP) and presidential choices (Prabowo-Gibran). This study aims to analyze the factors that influence split ticket voting behavior and its impact on PDIP's vote acquisition and Prabowo-Gibran's victory in Karo Regency. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this study explores data through in-depth interviews with 5 key informants including chairman of the PDIP PAC in Karo, PDIP cadre, Prabowo-Gibran campaign, and is supported by field observations and document analysis. The results of the study show that split ticket voting in Karo Regency is influenced by the following factors: (1) the strong figure of Prabowo-Gibran which goes beyond party identification, (2) the effectiveness of the campaign and political strategy of the candidate pair, (3) pragmatic considerations of voters regarding the programs offered, and (4) local political dynamics that influence voter preferences. This phenomenon produces a pattern where PDIP continues to gain significant votes at the legislative level but its mass base does not fully support the presidential candidate supported by the party. These findings contribute to the understanding of voter behavior and local political dynamics in the context of simultaneous elections.
