dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the form and factors that cause code mixing in the lyrics of the song by girl band Blackpink entitled Really. The song Really itself is a song from Girlband Blackpink released in 2018 in the album Square Up. Girlband Blackpink is a vocal and dance group from South Korea. Code mixing always occurs in bilingual societies, where speakers mix two or more languages used in their lives. Bilingualism is a person's ability to use two languages. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data on song lyrics titled Really taken from the Spotify music application and presented narratively. The data collection was conducted using the listening method, which involves listening to the song lyrics. From the results of the study, 10 code mix data were found consisting of: 5 data in the form of word insertion, 2 data in the form of phrase insertion, and 1 data in the form of clause insertion, and 2 data in the form of word repetition insertion. From all the data, it was found that nouns dominated the code mix in Really song lyrics. Factors causing the use of code mixing in the lyrics of this song include the situation of politeness/informal, the background of the songwriter, as well as the deliberate use of code mixing to be cooler and for economic purposes so as to attract consumers to buy albums from Girlband Blackpink. | en_US |
