Analisis Efektifitas Mesin Penggiling Tebu di Pabrik Gula Menggunakan Metode Overall Equipments Effectiveness
Analysis of the Effectiveness of Sugar Cane Grinding Machines in Sugar Factories Using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness Method
Abstract
The purpose of TPM is to determine the six big losses in the production machine. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is used as a measuring tool in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in the Sugar Factory. The analysis of this sugarcane grinding machine is measured through availability, performance efficiency and rate of quality product and determining the critical components of the sugarcane grinding machine. Sugar factories often experience machine damage during the production process which results in downtime for too long so that machine performance becomes less effective, machine damage is caused by a lack of proper and correct machine maintenance. The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the sugarcane grinding machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method which can maintain the machine ideally by making repairs to several losses that occur in the machine. The results showed that the average value of the effectiveness of the sugarcane grinding machine using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method was 63%. The OEE value obtained did not comply with the standards set by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) which was 85%. The OEE value was low because the value of the performance ratio of 79% did not comply with the JIPM standard of 95%. The results of the analysis of the Six Big Losses that occurred in the sugarcane grinding machine showed that idling and minor stoppages of 18.95% and Reduced Speed Loss of 18.67% had the highest percentage of the other six losses. This is what affects the low performance rate value so that improvements are made.
