In the current era of globalization, transportation is an important aspect in human life activities. One of the transportations that is widely used to support mobility is a motorcycle. However, not all motorcycles have perfection in the production process. In this study, the problems that will be discussed are how legal protection is provided for consumers who are harmed due to product defects in the ESAF frame of Honda motorcycles, how compensation is given by PT. Astra Honda Motor to consumers due to product defects in the ESAF frame of Honda motorcycles, and how legal sanctions are imposed on PT. Astra Honda Motor related to product defects in the ESAF frame of motorcycles that have been marketed to consumers. The research method used is normative legal research supported by field research. The nature of the research used is descriptive research and the types of data used are primary and secondary data. The data collection technique is carried out by field research, for that, the primary data is data from the field. The data collection tool in this study is a document or literature study consisting of primary legal materials and secondary legal materials. The data analysis used in this study is qualitative data analysis. Based on the data obtained, conclusions will then be drawn using the deductive method, namely "researchers will draw conclusions from general matters to specific matters".
Legal protection for consumers who are harmed due to product defects in the ESAF frame of Honda motorcycles is regulated in the Civil Code and the Consumer Protection Law. Compensation provided by PT Astra Honda Motor to consumers due to product defects in the ESAF frame of Honda motorcycles is regulated in Article 19 of the Consumer Protection Law. Provisions regarding legal sanctions that can be imposed on PT AHM as a manufacturer of Honda motorcycles that have harmed consumers have of course been regulated in the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law. The sanctions that can be imposed on manufacturers are divided into 3, namely civil sanctions, administrative sanctions, and criminal sanctions. Because consumers feel more materially disadvantaged if there is a defect in their e-SAF motorcycle frame.
