Pengaruh Nanoherbal Daun Gagatan Harimau (Paraboea leuserensis B.L.Burtt) terhadap Histologi Paru- paru Tikus Wistar (Rattus norvegicus L.) Jantan yang Diberi Doxorubicin
The Effect of Nanoherbal from Gagatan Harimau Leaves (Paraboea leuserensis B.L.Burtt) To The Lung Histology of Male Wistar Rats (Rattus norvegicus L.) Administered by Doxorubicin
Abstract
Doxorubicin (DOX) is an antibiotic in the anthracycline group that is used as
a chemotherapy agent. Doxorubicin has an impact to the lung toxicity. Doxorubicin-
induced lung damage mainly caused by oxidative stress. Gagatan harimau leaves
contain many secondary metabolites such as flavonoids and terpenoids that act as
antioxidants and induce repair of organ histological structures, especially the
content of the phenylethanoid glycosides. This study aims to determine the effect of
nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaves on the morphology and histology of the lungs of
male wistar rats (Rattus novergicus L.) induced by doxorubicin. This study consisted
of four groups and six replications by using a Completely Randomized Design
(CRD), which were (1) T0 (without treatment); (2) T+ (induced doxorubicin); (3)
T125 (induced doxorubicin + nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaves 125 mg/kgbw);
(4) T150 (induced doxorubicin + nanoherbal gagatan harimau leaves 150 mg/kgbw).
The results of the study show the administration of nanoherbal gagatan harimau
leaves at a dose of 150 mg/kgBB is able to improve the lung morphology, including
weight, color, and surface, as well as its histology, including alveolus membrane,
alvolusl lumen, and realitionship between alveolus (p<0,05) after induce by
doxorubicin and examined by Hematoxylin-Eosin (HE) staining.
