Indonesia has significant potential for renewable energy resources, one of which comes from waste. Indonesia has a biomass waste potential of 885.2 million Gigajoules (GJ) per year. This opens up opportunities for utilizing biomass, such as oil palm waste, as an energy source. Huta Padang, located in Bandar Pasir Mandoge Subdistrict, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra, is predominantly filled with oil palm plantations, which produce oil palm frond waste daily. This study aims to utilize the oil palm frond waste generated daily by the community by designing a boiler to generate electricity through the heat produced by burning the oil palm frond waste, specifically a steam power plant with a Pelton turbine. This system will generate electrical energy from a DC generator driven by a turbine powered by steam produced by a boiler that is fueled by palm frond waste. The testing will be conducted three times for each specified condition. Based on the test results with a load variation of 1 lamp of 30 watts, the obtained mean value of the data showed a generator speed of 1445,8 RPM, voltage of 15,71 V, current of 1,14 A, and the highest power of 18,1 W at a pressure of 7 bar. Meanwhile, with a load variation of 2 lamps of 30 watts, the generator speed was 1238,9 RPM, voltage was 12,04 V, current was 1,03 A, and the power output was 12,4 W at a pressure of 7 bar.
