The study was conducted to optimize the utilization of Palm Kernel Meal
(BIS) and Indigofera sp. leaf meal in the diet of KUB chickens (Kampung Unggul
Balitbangtan). The experiment involved 250 one-day-old KUB chicks divided into
five treatments with five replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (control), P1
(PKM 4% + Indigofera 3%), P2 (PKM 8% + Indigofera 6%), P3 (PKM 12% +
Indigofera 9%), and P4 (PKM 16% + Indigofera 12%). The parameters measured
included slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and internal organs
(gizzard, liver, and heart). The findings of this research indicate that the inclusion
of Palm Kernel Meal and Indigofera leaf flour up to a level of 28% in KUB chicken
diets can serve as a substitute for maize and soybean meal. However, this
substitution did not significantly improve slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass
percentage, or internal organ development (P>0.05). Based on the results
obtained, further research is warranted to optimize the utilization level of palm
kernel meal and Indigofera leaf flour in KUB chicken diets
