Analisis Pengalaman UMKM dalam Menggunakan Aplikasi M-Banking untuk Pembayaran dan Transaksi Keuangan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the experiences of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in using mobile banking (m-banking) applications for payments and financial transactions in their business activities. The background of this research stems from the rapid development of financial technology, with m-banking becoming one of the most widely adopted banking services facilitating cashless transactions. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews with five MSME owners representing various types of businesses from randomly selected locations. The results indicate that MSME actors have experienced multiple benefits from using m-banking, including ease of transactions, time efficiency, and reduced reliance on cash. However, some challenges remain, such as network connectivity issues, initial confusion in operating the app, and concerns over transaction errors. To overcome these challenges, MSME owners generally rely on personal initiatives, such as retrying transactions, relocating to areas with stronger signals, and seeking assistance from others. They also expressed hopes that m-banking applications could be simplified, made lighter, and equipped with special features tailored to support small businesses. This study recommends enhancing digital literacy among MSMEs, simplifying m-banking features by application developers, and promoting government support in providing infrastructure and training to accelerate the digital transformation of MSMEs.
