| dc.description.abstract | One of the agricultural products in Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Selatan is rice from sawah (wet rice fields). Rice, processed into rice grains, is a staple food for almost the entire population of Indonesia. The rice-producing areas in Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Selatan are Kecamatan Sungai Kanan and Kotapinang , among the five districts in the regency. The productivity of rice in Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Selatan is lower than the provincial average for Sumatera Utara. This is attributed to less favorable weather conditions, suboptimal use of rice farming production variables, and insufficient and underdeveloped rice cultivation techniques. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of farmers, costs, receipts, income, and the feasibility of rice farming in Kecamatan Kotapinang, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Selatan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. The analytical methods used in this study include income analysis and the feasibility analysis (Revenue/Cost Ratio - R/C Ratio) to assess the feasibility and income of rice farming in Kecamatan Kotapinang. Primary data were collected through surveys, while secondary data were obtained from relevant institutions. The average income from rice farming in Kecamatan Kotapinang is IDR 9,438,433/farmer/planting season and IDR 9,970,176/hectare/planting season, with a Revenue-Cost Ratio (RCR) of 2.587. Based on this, it can be concluded that rice farming in the study area is feasible to continue. | en_US |
