Bullying is one of the problems highlighted by the government and international organizations. Indonesia has even occupied the first position with the highest bullying cases in ASEAN, which is as much as 84%, so there is a need for prevention and handling. The Roots program comes as one of the school-based programs that involves students as agents of change. This program is in line with Permendikbud No.82. This program is in line with Permendikbud No.82 of 2015 concerning the prevention and control of violence in the education unit environment. This study aims to identify bullying problems that occur at SMK Negeri 7 Medan and analyze the Roots program in dealing with bullying problems at SMK Negeri 7 Medan. The indicators used include the definition of bullying, types of bullying and mandatory activities in the Roots program. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation. The informant retrieval technique was carried out using purposive sampling technique. The total number of informants was 14 people for field studies through interviews. The results showed that informants had a fairly good understanding of bullying and its types. The types of bullying that occur in schools are verbal bullying, direct non-verbal bullying, indirect non-verbal bullying, and cyberbullying. The results showed that the Roots program was considered quite helpful in reducing and overcoming bullying through prevention efforts and increasing student understanding, although its implementation was still not optimal. Recommendations are given to schools to intensify campaigns related to bullying, to students to be more concerned with activities from schools related to bullying, to the Education Office to pay more attention to schools that implement the Roots program, to parents to pay more attention to their children, and to further researchers to further explore the influence or psychological support for children.en_US
