Background: Red spinach leaves (Amaranthus tricolor L.) contain quite high anthocyanins with red pigments that have the potential as natural dyes and are relatively safer to use compared to synthetic dyes. Natural dyes can be used as dyes in cosmetic preparations. Therefore, in this study, red spinach leaf extract was formulated in a blush on stick preparation. Objective: To make a blush on stick preparation using red spinach leaf extract as a natural dye, evaluate the stability of the preparation, and test the effectiveness of the preparation on the skin. Methodology: The manufacture of red spinach leaf extract was carried out by maceration method using 70% ethanol and added citric acid, then the solvent was evaporated with the help of a rotary evaporator at a temperature of 50oC, then freeze drying was carried out at a temperature of -40oC for 72 hours with a vacuum pressure of 0.0010 mbar to obtain a thick extract of red spinach leaves. The formulation of the blush on stick preparation used red spinach leaf extract dye with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. Furthermore, testing was carried out on the preparation, including organoleptic examination, homogeneity, stability with parameters observed in shape, color, odor, and pH during 12 weeks of storage at room temperature and spreadability, irritation and preference test (hedonic test). Results: The blush on stick preparations produced with variations in the concentration of red spinach leaf extract of 5%, 10%, and 15% showed light pink, sheer pink, and rose colors, had a distinctive and homogeneous odor. The blush on stick preparations were stable in 12 weeks of storage at room temperature, pH 5.0 5.6, the preparations did not cause skin irritation, and had good polishing power, blush on stick with red spinach leaf extract at a concentration of 15% was the preparation most preferred by the panelists. Conclusion: Red spinach leaf extract can be used as a colorant in the formulation of blush on stick preparations. The blush on stick preparation that is most preferred by panelists is the preparation with a concentration of 15% red spinach leaf extract which is rose-colored, stable during 12 weeks of storage, does not irritate the skin and meets physical quality requirements.en_US
