This thesis reviews the concept of 'Harmony in Nature', which combines
ecotherapy with biophilic architecture in an effort to design a mental
development facility on the banks of the German River, Deli Serdang. This
research highlights how interaction with nature can be a catalyst for mental
recovery and the improvement of individual morality. Incorporating natural
elements such as running water, green vegetation, and abundant natural light,
the facility's design aims to create an environment that supports holistic health.
Ecotherapy, as a healing method based on interaction with nature that
emphasizes the importance of human connection with nature. Through this
approach, the designed facility serves not only as a place of therapy but also
as an example of sustainable architecture that promotes ecological balance
and human well-being. This study is expected to provide in-depth and practical
insights on how architectural design in harmony with nature can contribute
positively to the mental development of individuals, as well as have a positive
environmental impact in the German River area, Deli Serdang.
