Sheep are one of the small ruminant livestock commodities that are widely raised by the people of Indonesia. One effort to increase the productivity of ruminant livestock is to improve the quality and quantity of feed given. This study aims to determine the best ration formulation based on the balance of RDP and RAC on the digestibility of NDF, ADF and Hemicellulose in local male sheep. This study was conducted at the Goat and Sheep Research Pen and the Laboratory of Feed Technology Science, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The study lasted for 3 months. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of R1 = RDP/RAC Balance 2.33; R2 = RDP/RAC Balance 1.70; R3 = RDP/RAC Balance 1.50. The parameters observed were the digestibility of NDF, ADF and Hemicellulose. The results of the study showed that the balance of RDP and RAC in the ration had a significant effect (P<0.05) and had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on NDF digestibility and hemicellulose digestibility with an average NDF digestibility ranging from 70.82 - 77.97% and an average hemicellulose digestibility ranging from 81.07 - 88.18%. But, the balance of RDP and RAC in the ration had no significant effect (P>0.05) on ADF digestibility with an average value ranging from 66.75 - 73.09%. The best treatment level in this study was R3 (RDP/RAC balance 1.50).en_US
