Malik Medan. Definisi overekspresi MMP-9 adalah skor imunoreaktif 4-6 Hasil:
Berdasarkan distribusi, kelompok sampel terbanyak adalah laki-laki (54,8%),
kelompok usia 50 - <60 tahun (54,8%), jenis histopatologi Non Keratinizing
Squamous Cell Carcinoma (61,3%), ukuran tumor (T) T4 (38,7%), dan besar kelenjar
getah bening (N) N0 (90,3%). Berdasarkan analisis statistik, antara ekspresi MMP-9
dengan T (p = 0,537), N (p = 1,0), dan stadium klinis (0,537) tidak didapatkan
hubungan yang signifikan. Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan ekspresi MMP-9
dengan stadium klinis karsinoma sinonasal. Background: Sinonasal carcinoma is a rare type of head and neck malignancy, but
has a poor prognosis. Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMP) 9 is a type of MMP that plays
a role in cancer development. Objective: To assess how is the expression of MMP-9
relation to disease’s stage of sinonasal carcinoma at RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan.
Methods: Observational studies of 31 sinonasal cancer patients enrolled in 2015 -
2016 period in the Oncology Division of T.H.T.K.L and Pathology Department of
RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan. The definition of overexpression of MMP-9 is an
immunoreactive score of 4-6 Outcome: Based on the distribution, the largest sample
groups are males (54.8%), 50 - <60 year old (54.8%), Non Keratinizing Squamous
Cell Carcinoma type (61.3%), tumor size (T) T4 (38.7%), and lymph node (N) N0
(90.3%). Statistical analysis showed that the expression of MMP-9 with T (p = 0.537),
N (p = 1.0), and clinical stadium (0.537) did not yield statistically significant
association. Conclusion: There is no association of MMP-9 expression with clinical
stage of sinonasal carcinoma.
