dc.description.abstractBackground: Pharmacists play an important role in the management and distribution of pharmaceutical preparations in Distribution Pharmaceutical Enterprises (PBF), with the primary responsibility of ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP). Pharmacists must possess the knowledge to oversee the quality of medicines, control pharmacovigilance, and enhance distribution efficiency to achieve national health goals. Therefore, prospective pharmacists need to be equipped through the Pharmacist Profession Internship (PKPA). Objective: The objective of the PKPA in PBF is to enhance the understanding of prospective pharmacists about the roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in PBF, equipping prospective pharmacists with insights, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to perform pharmaceutical work in PBF. Method: The PKPA activities at PBF PT. Antarmitra Sembada Medan Branch were held from September 2 to 27, 2024. The PKPA PBF was conducted at Jalan Bunga Asoka No.95/97, Asam Kumbang, Medan Selayang District, Medan City, North Sumatra. Summary: The roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in managing pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, and disposable materials include the stages of planning, procurement, receipt, storage, pest control, distribution, destruction, recording, and reporting. In addition, pharmacists also play a role in the administration of drug distribution facilities (PBF) which include checking incoming and outgoing goods, reporting over-the-counter medications, limited over-the-counter medications, hard drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors, certain medications, handling cold chain products (CCP), and mapping temperatures according to the provisions of the Good Distribution Practices (CDOB) regulations.en_US
