Abstract

Background: Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (PBF) play a vital role in the national healthcare system by ensuring the availability of high-quality medicines and medical devices in various healthcare facilities, including pharmacies and hospitals. Pharmaceutical wholesalers are one of the most important components of the continuously growing pharmaceutical industry. With the existence of PBF, the distribution process of medicines becomes more organized and efficient, allowing the public to obtain the necessary medicines and medical devices in a timelymanner. Objective: To enhance prospective pharmacists understanding of the role, function, position, and responsibilities of pharmacists in a Pharmaceutical Wholesaler, as well as to improve their understanding of the principles of Good Distribution Practice (CDOB) and its implementation in a Pharmaceutical Wholesaler. Summary: Understanding the role, function, and responsibilities of a pharmacist as the Responsible Pharmacist in a PBF includes carrying out and supervising drug management activities, which consist of procurement, receipt, and distribution of medicines in accordance with the guidelines of Good Distribution Practice(CDOB). Conclusion: Pharmacists in a PBF who carry out the procurement, storage, and distribution of medicines/pharmaceutical ingredients are required to apply the (CDOB).
