dc.description.abstractThe Effect of Adding Date Palm Extract as Extender Different Nile Tilapia Concentrations (Oreochromis on niloticus) Eri the Cryopreservation Sperm. Supervised of by Yusni as the Head of the Supervisory Committee, and Astrid Fauzia Dewinta and Desrita as Members of the Examination Committee. Cryopreservation is one of the technologies used in fish breeding to store sperm at extremely low temperatures for long periods, aiming to maintain its quality and availability for selective breeding programs. This study aimed to examine the effect of adding date palm extract to the extender solution on the quality of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) sperm after cryopreservation, focusing on sperm motility and viability. The research was conducted from March to April 2025 using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments of date palm extract concentrations (0%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5%) and three replications. The observed parameters were sperm motility and viability post-thawing. The results showed that the addition of date palm extract at different concentrations had a significant effect on sperm quality (p<0.05). The best treatment was found at a 2% concentration (P3), resulting in the highest motility (62.66%) and viability (73.00%). This concentration is considered optimal for maintaining sperm quality during cryopreservation.en_US
