Gout arthritis is a degenerative disease that affects the joints and is commonly found in the community, particularly among the elderly. However, it is also occasionally observed in pre-elderly individuals. Gout arthritis is a complication of hyperuricemia triggered by monosodium urate crystals in the joints or soft tissues of the body. It results from the final metabolism of purines, which are components of nucleic acids found in the cell nucleus. Pain is a subjective condition and an unpleasant emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, perceived during the occurrence of injury. This report writing uses a descriptive approach with a case study on the main nursing problem: chronic gout pain. The nursing care approach includes conducting an assessment, formulating a nursing diagnosis, making a nursing action plan, implementing and evaluating nursing actions. The purpose of this Senior Practicum is to apply the theory and concept of nursing care (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation) to patients with gouty arthritis in managing pain arising from high uric acid levels. The results of nursing care management in gouty arthritis (uric acid) patients through pain management education concluded that nursing care management in patients is very effective when applied to clients with gouty arthritis. The results of the nursing care for patient Mrs. A indicated three nursing diagnoses: chronic pain, impaired physical mobility, and knowledge deficit. Of these three diagnoses, it was found that the problems were partially resolved.
