Pengelolaan Asuhan Keperawatan pada Klien Tuberkulosis Paru dalam Upaya Peningkatan Pengetahuan Pencegahan Tuberkulosis Paru dengan Media Leaflet di UPT Puskesmas Medan Johor

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is one of the major infectious diseases and remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis, this disease primarily affects the lungs but can also spread to other organs. Pulmonary TB is highly contagious and poses a significant global health threat. Transmission occurs through airborne droplets expelled when an infected individual coughs or talks. Preventive measures include adhering to prescribed medication regimens, covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing, practicing hand hygiene, ensuring good ventilation through fans or open windows, avoiding public transportation, and consistently wearing a mask. This senior practicum aimed to provide comprehensive nursing care management, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the primary nursing problem: knowledge deficit. The nursing process began with individual assessment, followed by data analysis, formulation of nursing diagnoses, planning of care interventions, implementation, and evaluation of care outcomes. The implementation involved delivering health education using leaflet media. The results indicated an improvement in clients' knowledge regarding pulmonary TB prevention as an outcome of the nursing care interventions provided.
